When you donate to the Telluride Animal Foundation, you can be sure we take the utmost care to create the most value out of your donation, however large or small. TAF has an extremely low overhead and no salaries, so all proceeds can go to saving the animals! We donate to various organizations throughout the Telluride Region and the greater Southwest and track and monitor all the funds we distribute to be certain the organizations are using our donations appropriately.

Some of our current projects are:

Education

Did you know that over 5 million dogs and cats are killed every year in shelters? In the late 80’s that number was closer to 17 million. We will strive to educate the public about the joy and need for pet adoptions and help put an end to breeding and puppy mills.

Spay and Neutering

All over the region there are stray and domestic dogs and cats having litter after litter of babies. This does nothing but hurt our mission to reduce the number of shelter kills to zero. We need education and support to spay and neuter as many animals as possible.

Adoption Networking

Our Southern Rocky Mountain Region has hundreds of small rescue organizations and thousands of concerned citizens, and we are making it our job to connect these groups. This network will offer support for many of the lesser fortunate organizations as well as the ability to adopt many more animals.

Keep Animals at Home

By providing food and vet care for struggling owners we can help them keep their animals and avoid relinquishment or maltreatment. We promote hay and animal food banks throughout the state and parter with local veterinarian offices to provide care on a case by case basis.
