Adoption Day Success

On Saturday Feb 16th the Thrift Shop held a very special event – an Adoption Day featuring 8 darling dogs, and 1 cat.  The dogs were from Running Dog Ranch in Delores and Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary in Crawford.  It was a beautiful sunny day in Telluride, and the dogs had a great time strutting their stuff up and down Colorado Ave.  The first dog to find a home was Sam, a 2 yr old Australian Shepherd.  It was love at first sight, and Sam happily trotted home with his new family.

 

 

 

 

 

Juneau the 4 month old Border Collie mix and her brother Luka found forever homes too, and we have had reports that both are fitting in wonderfully in their new homes.

Perhaps the stars of the show were brother and sister duo MacTavish and MacDougal, 1.5 yr old Westies.  We were shocked that these little outgoing cuties weren’t snapped up at the event, but that just means they are still available!  If you know of anyone looking for a low-maintenance pair of small dogs, then contact Debbie at debbie@blackcanyonanimalsanctuary.com.

It was a wonderful day, thanks to all the volunteers that worked so hard to exercise the doggies and keep them entertained.  Here is a list of the dogs that didn’t find their perfect homes that day, contact the rescues if you are interested in adopting any of these cuties!
