A Dog Day Afternoon

Telluride Animal Foundation is hosting a picnic on Hastings Mesa on Saturday, August 10 from 11:30am-2pm for families, individuals and animal lovers in the community!

This annual event will be an afternoon relaxing with friends, staff and volunteers of the Telluride Animal Foundation in a fantastic and beautiful ranch setting. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an organic farm to table picnic, lawn games for adults and children, fly fishing and of course mingling with a menagerie of adoptable pets! In addition, there will be a small silent auction featuring the artwork of Nicole Finger, Nancy B. Frank, an amazing Ralph Lauren “bucket bag”, 4 rounds of golf at the Telluride Golf Course and a few other surprises! There will be 2 mini burrows, a miniature horse from the Spirit Wind Horse Rescue and many other four-legged friends from Black Canyon Anima Sanctuary! All available for adoption!

The Dog Days of Summer will take place on Hastings Mesa on Saturday, August 10th from 11:30am-2:00pm.

“We’re looking forward getting our volunteers, donors and community members that want to learn more about us together for an afternoon of good conversation and food mixed with games and adoptable animals,” stated founder of the Telluride Animal Foundation, Katja Wichland. “Dog Days of Summer was created to thank those that have helped us and to educate those that want to learn more.”

Monies raised from this event will support the Telluride Animal Foundation’s mission to reduce the number of homeless pets. TAF focuses on supporting existing shelters and sanctuaries through targeted funding, sponsoring spay/neuter initiatives to fight euthanasia, providing food for struggling owners to keep their animals in their care, and networking rescue animals to increase awareness and adoption rates.
